A recent announcement from the National Institutes of Health about a program entitled, All of Us Research Program, heralds the beginning of a national trend to collect health information on at least one million participants. Volunteers will be enrolled where the collection and analysis of data, blood, and urine samples over the course of many decades will help to fulfill the mission of this program as stated on the website, “….to accelerate health research and medical breakthroughs, enabling individualized prevention, treatment, and care for all of us.”.

Beta testing is underway with a national launch anticipated for fall of 2017 or early next year. For more information, https://allofus.nih.gov/news-events-and-media/announcements/beta-testing-begins-nihs-all-us-research-program .
